    I'm probably reaching, Jay. My calluses are thick as well and I've nothing but occasional issue with neuro pain in my fingers, grateful for that. Nice reminder on light touch, something I was actually (re)working on over the last few weeks, till my schedule went a bit haywire last week.

    I think the nylon string style maccaferri D hole thing predated the selmac style guitars we all know and love. It's a different sound, you can't say it's better or worse - it serves a different purpose. I like them for brasilian music and stuff, when playing with the fingers on my gypsy jazz guitar doesn't sound as good. Check out Sylvain Luck and Bireli stuff, I think that's on nylon string ..
