1983 Pierre Fontaine 14 Fret SHORT SCALE Oval Hole Guitar (Maple Back and Sides) HSC
This wonderful guitar was built by Pierre Fontaine, a well known Parisian luthier who was active from the 1950s through the early 2000s. Built in 1983, this guitar has had only one owner it's entire life!
This guitar features the unusual combination of a 14 fret neck and a short scale length. The dimensions are: 15 3/4" body, 3 1/2 depth, 650mm scale. A great guitar for someone with small hands but wants high fret access for lead playing.
Back, sides, and neck are Maple (3 piece with mahogany spline). Ebony fingerboard. Rosewood binding.
This guitar is in very good condition. It has a few tiny dings and scratches. There is one small ding on the binding (back treble side of the lower bout) that knocked a bit of finish off. Other than that the guitar has a very newish quality to it.
It is currently strung with 11 gauge strings and action is set at 3mm.
This guitar is very warm sounding with a very thick mid range and rounded highs. The short scale and low action make it a breeze to play.
