2011 Peter Zwinakis Selmer ***NEW PRICE!!!***
In recent years Peter Zwinakis has established himself as one of the premier builders of Gypsy guitars in North America. Based in the Bay Area, his work shows a sincere dedication to the Franco/Italian tradition of Selmer Maccaferri guitars. This fine example is the equal of many of the best contemporary European guitars but at a player's price.

First off, the features of this guitar are normally only found on the infinitely more expensive flagship models of luthiers like Dupont, Barault, and Hahl. Materials and construction techniques are of the highest caliber:

-Heat bent pliage European spruce top (the top was bent with a hot iron just like Selmer did it. Most Selmer copies today are forced top which generally doesn't have the projection and quickness of attack that the pliage tops have. Normally only found on flagship models like the Dupont VR)

-SOLID Koa back and sides

-Walnut neck.

-Lacquered interior (another Flagship feature)

-The body is standard Selmer size (15 3/4")

-670mm scale

-Ebony fingerboard

-DR Tailpiece

-Schaller Classic Deluxe Tuners

The sound of this guitar is bold and exciting, with prodigious volume and a complex tone. The high end is very responsive, allowing single note passages to be easily heard. It is somewhat open sounding, with a nice natural reverb to it that adds complexity and interest. The bass register is very defined and clear. All around, a very traditional sounding Selmer copy that is well suited mainstream Gypsy jazz playing.

Playability is excellent with 10 gauge Argentine strings and 3mm action.

Guardian hardshell case included.

This instrument was built in 2011 and has some slight "shop wear" on it. There is some light pickwear on the top as well as numerous light scratches and scuffs on both the top and back. This would normally be a $4000 instrument. Save big on this fantastic handmade guitar!
