The acclaimed luthier Riccarddo Mordeglia hails from Ferrara, the Italian heartland of guitar making that also produced pioneering builders such as Luigi Mozzani and Mario Maccaferri. Mordeglia is a diligent student of the Emilian school of luthiers and has had the opportunity to restore original instruments constructed by Mozzani and Maccacferri. These luthiers laid the groundwork for the modern "Gypsy guitar." Mordeglia has taken it upon himself to take look back at the original design principals of these groundbreaking luthiers and adapt them to make the best possible Gypsy jazz guitar.
This FU model combines the bent top of a Gypsy guitar with the body shape and F soundholes of a traditional archtop guitar. The result is highly versatile instrument that has the warmth and clarity of an archtop combined with the acoustic projection of a Gypsy guitar. This instrument is perfect for players who play in a variety of acoustic styles as the tone of this instrument lends itself to straight ahead jazz, Gypsy, and even folk. It's nothing short of a sonic chameleon!
This beautifully crafted guitar features a spruce top, European maple back and sides, and a mahogany neck. Like a typical archtop, it has an adjustable bridge which allows you to easily set the action. Currently, it is set at a very low 1.2mm which makes it an absolute dream to play!

Amazingly loud and clean very balanced sound. I own this model made by Riccardo Mordeglia and it's one of the most amazing archtop's I ever played. It has almost as much volume as a selmer style guitar, and very easy to play. Highly recommended!
