2009 Dupont Busato Luxe CUSTOM

Slightly used Dupont Busato in mint condition!

Dupont's Busato guitars have quickly become one of our best sellers! It is a near exact copy, with the larger 16 1/4" Busato body. However, the scale is like a Selmer: 670mm. It also features the famous Busato bombe (top arch) which is more curved than Favinos or Selmers. Like the originals, this guitar also has a beautifully arched back.


We custom ordered this one with ebony binding (this model normally has ivoroid binding). It gives the guitar a dark, mysterious look...just stunning!


This guitar has a European spruce top, Indian Rosewood back and sides, ebony binding, a three piece mahogany/maple neck, a vintage finish and deluxe Busato tuners.


The sound is very close to the originals, and in many cases is almost indistinguishable. Like the vintage Busatos, this guitar has a bright, ultra dry tone with a very clear, bell like high end. These are my favorite qualities in a Gypsy guitar so this particular instrument is very dear to me. In fact, it sounds eerily similar to my own vintage 1940s Busato which produces beautiful singing leads that just float above the rhythm section. If you want a lead guitar bar none, than this is it!

Busatos are built for cutting power and Dupont has definitely succeeded in achieving that. Generally, Busatos are some of the loudest Gypsy guitars ever built and this guitar lives up to that tradition. This particular Luxe is ultra crunchy....each chord you play sounds like a bag of chips being crushed, so cool! Also one of the loudest we've had and it has deep, yet very defined bass.
