Cyril Gaffiero, one of the rising stars of French lutherie, is based in
the small village of Valence-en-Brie. Close to Django's former home of
Samois, Cyril draws inspiration from the abundance of Gypsy jazz history
in the area. His guitars are known for their traditional tone,
excellent projection, and high quality workmanship.
This wonderful Selmer copy features a spruce top, stunning santos rosewood back and sides, and a walnut neck. Hardware includes a DR tailpiece and a handsome set of Schaller Classic Deluxe tuners. The bridge has a compensated B string which results in more precise intonation.
The sound of this instrument is very traditional, featuring a very robust high end that produces crisp, singing lead lines and crunchy, well defined chords. It has just a touch of modernness in that there is a rare and fascinating complexity to the midrange that adds a bit of magic to anything you play.
This guitar is setup with 2.8mm action which results in a slinky, easy playing feel.
This is a great opportunity to own an instrument from a luthier who will certainly rise in stature over the years. Get one before Cyril's wait list and prices are prohibitive!
