New, a 22-gauge Argentine G-string rings long, loud, and true. But it wears out quickly. I buy G's in 10-packs because I go through them so fast. I don't mind changing strings more often or paying a higher price, that is if I'm getting a rich tone from my guitar...and I am, with this string.
