´As a guitar player, I often have the opportunity to play on various Selmer Maccaferri (style) guitars. I am fortunate to own an original Selmer, number 504, which I play on during my concert performances and CD recordings with The Rosenberg Trio. Personally, I think the tone of this guitar is one of the best there is. Many people have asked my advice on which guitar to buy. A very complicated issue, because a guitar is very personal, especially when tone, playability a nd appearance are concerned. This initiated the idea to have a new guitar build, in which my knowledge about Selmer Maccaferri (style) guitars would be used and implemented. Qualitatively a very fine guitar, resembling my own Selmer guitar as much as possible, and constructed according to my directions. I came in contact with Leo Eimers who is specialized in building and restoring Selmer Maccaferri style guitars. When I played on one of his handmade Selmers models, the sound and playability of the guitar immediately impressed me. Furthermore, the guitar was extremely well crafted. As a result, we started discussing the development of a replica of my own Selmer number 504. During our close collaboration, Leo Eimers stood open to all my suggestions and whishes, and has professionally – with an eye for detail – implemented them into the guitar. After several evaluations, amongst others in the workshop of Eimers-Guitars, we developed the Stochelo Rosenberg Signature Model. To guitar players who appreciate gypsy jazz and the Selmer sound, I sincerely recommend this excellent instrument.
