I was pleasantly surprised to find mention of Denis Chang, Swingology, Lost Fingers, Shelley Park and others in The History of Jazz/Swing/Gypsy Jazz/North America/Canada section of "The History of Jazz". This is an ipad app which gives a timeline based, in-depth, multimedia overview of jazz. It seem pretty deep in terms of amount of content and it's relatively recent.
Of course all the big names are mentioned, but it was nice to see a Canadian section too!
The app has gotten pretty good reviews. I think it will be a nice app to have when I'm waiting for the gig to start. I can just go over my history of jazz before the band arrives.
An interesting mix of old music and new technology.
