La Pompe - from J'attendrai 38 and Den Haag Footage

Lately, I've been studying these films trying to look at Joseph, Baro, and Django's right hand (slowed down and frame by frame).

It looks like they do the slight upstroke (grace note) followed by down stroking all the strings [ending beat 1] , then the main down stroke on all strings [ending beat 2].

What do you guys think?
I know there are many styles (dutch, trad, paris, german..), what style does this follow?

I've been doing the slight upstroke on EA (grace note) followed by down stroking EA [ending beat 1] , then the main down stroke on all strings [ending beat 2].

Lastly, did Django, Baro, Joseph do the upstroke on all the strings or EAG, or EA?

Thanks,

Have a good day,

Daniel

Hi Daniel...they're playing the traditional la pompe in that video. It's explained in detail on p.32 of the Gypsy Rhythm book.
