Pick all of the strings on the upstroke?

Hello All,

I've been watching Denis Chang's DVD and he mentions that you should hit all of the strings on the upstroke. In Gypsy Rhythm, I believe Michael says its should just be the bass strings. Is this a Sinti-specific stylistic difference, or am I reading it wrong?

Thanks,

peri

I think Dennis may be talking about a different style of playing.....if I get a chance I'll take a look at this DVD.

Regarding the upstroke, if I remember correctly, Denis shows 3 examples of upstrokes,
    - you hit all the strings
    - only or mostly the bass strings
    - to the extreme (more german style ?) of just the E string.
