... and had my local guitar tech mount it on the inside of my guitar!
It took a few tries and about an hour of experimentation to get it into the sweet spot, but now it sounds great!
I'm so happy now I can plug my 1/4 inch jack right into the tailpiece. I was always afraid that little thin wire leading to the pickup was going to get broken somehow. Plus the stick-on pickups are kind of ugly.
So now it's inside the guitar, where it's both invisible and out of harm's way... I hope!
That's the good news.
The bad news- I had high hopes for this new D'Addario "circuit breaker" switchable guitar 1/4 inch jack...
...but it didn't mute my guitar worth a hoot! Plus, it made a lot of loud popping noises, just what you don't want!
I'm going to take it back to the music store tomorrow and hope to find another unit which will work.
I just noticed on their website that there are two types, a "momentary" kill switch and a "latched" kill switch... I'm hoping I accidentally got the former and can exchange it for the latter...
I've been using a foot pedal to kill the volume on my guitar whenever I double on banjo, and I'm hoping this new circuit breaker cord will eliminate that bit of extra crap to carry around.
PS Just curious: has anybody tried one of these new Henriksen "Bud" amps yet? They look very interesting!
