Let's try to keep it to 1 song (with no repeats), with a maximum of 2 if you have 2 really interesting ones. I'll get it started:

My friend Albi calls the theme from The Godfather. Great changes, haunting melody, super-fun to solo over, and often gets the attention of the audience. And maybe even boosts the tips?

For those curious, the pipeline to do this was built with Claude Fable and then Sonnet did the transposition task. I had tried to do this with earlier models but the OCR on a raw PDF never worked well. Converting to XML and then back to a PDF produced too many errors. I expect future models will do a better job with this so it may be worth revisiting in the future if this pdf contains too many errors to be useful.

This is one of the other challenges we’ve set ourselves with the Punch Trio: as well as bringing hard bop era tunes into the Gypsy Jazz repertoire, we also want to explore how the style fits with new sounds and with musicians who can adapt to the manouche trio’s unique vibe. On this occasion, we’re joined by the French trombonist Samuel Marthe, who truly understood what we were looking for and delivers a spectacular solo on “This I Dig of You,” one of the iconic hard bop tunes by saxophonist Hank Mobley.

Honestly having the whole django fakebook as mxml would be huge for playing with horn players. Might someone know if that is already underway? Id love to contribute.

I'm looking for a Django Fakebook in eB (for alto saxophone). Not only the chords, but the heads as well.

If someone know where i could find it, i would really appreciate. I've been looking for it for month, can't find anything except some tunes here and there.

Or if anyone know/can how to transcribe easily a whole .pdf, please MP. I've been trying with soft but it's a nightmare (200 pages or so full of bugs and mistakes after minutes of process...)

I've been working on this hopefully note for note and stroke by stroke transcription of the solo from the J'attendrai video. I haven't seen a ton of others to compare it to. If anyone is interested in proofreading it for me and seeing if there are errors I'd appreciate the help. I think I have most if not of all of it buy who knows. The camera dips away for frustratingly long periods of time so I just filled in the parts based on the the parts where you can see what he's doing.

I definitely learned a lot about Django's playing through this. Picking is clearly a downstroke on every string change plus more downstrokes, plus some downstrokes :)

Anyway, it's attached, let me know if you have any comments.

I hear mandolin influence in some of Django's tremolo fills - maybe he heard imigrant Italian players in Paris in his early days.

There has been some debate here about the rarity of the song:

Was he inspired by Ravel?
