This is a fairly informal jam camp with instruction on swing violin and guitar. We play all sorts of swing music, but there is an emphasis on Django/hot club tunes.

At $65 (Canadian currency) it's a very cheap weekend of camping, jamming and instruction.

He has attempted to troll me in the past, and just recently attempted to do so again (on Facebook). However, and perhaps it is the doctor in me wanting to see that he gets the much needed psychiatric help he so urgently needs, rather than attempt to engage with him about music (no point in doing that, when he tells me he is better than everyone else - even going as far to say he's better than Bireli, Angelo, Stocholo, George Benson with 10 Grammys, and that he "teaches" Yamadu Costa and Matteo Mancuso), it's best to understand his pertinent psychiatric diagnosis from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition: DSM-5:

Key Aspects of Grandiose Delusional Disorder (DSM-5-TR)

• Definition: A subtype of Delusional Disorder (DSM-5-TR) where the central theme is a conviction of great talent, insight, or power.
• Duration: Delusions must persist for 1 month or longer.
• Functioning: Apart from the delusion, behavior is not obviously bizarre or odd, and daily functioning is not severely impaired.
• Differential Diagnosis: Unlike schizophrenia, delusions in this disorder are not accompanied by other prominent psychotic symptoms (like severe auditory hallucinations or disorganized thought).
• Features: Individuals may believe they have a special relationship with a prominent figure or are actually that figure.

This diagnosis fits him quite well, so if you do happen to interface with him again (and I don't know when that will be since I drove him off of Facebook again by confronting him and offering him an inpatient psychiatric referral), just send him my way. I have psychiatrist colleagues in the south Florida area that would be able to help him out.

Sure, it's easy to laugh at him, and dismiss his patently absurd and inane comments, but I guess I really want to help people who are clearly afflicted, such as he is.

I ordered 3 and had him fashion them in the same size and thickness as my BlueChip TD100 (2.5 mm thick). He can make any size, shape, and to a lesser extent, thickness. Django Reinhardt (January 23, 1910 – May 16, 1953) was a Manouche (French Roma) child-prodigy who became a master musician at a very early age, possibly the first guitar virtuoso in jazz. Mostly known for his guitar virtuosity, he is also regarded as the originator of the musical genre Jazz Manouche, where the guitar is front and center (in contrast to most other kinds of jazz of his time where brass instruments were usually playing the melodies and solos). Reinhardt created the Hot Club de France Quintet, with a format still used in the genre with all acoustic stringed instruments.

Highlights for me were hanging out with Giacomo who is just a disarmingly friendly and helpful person and such an insane musician. Tcha tore my guitar a new one one night. Paulus was really lovely to hang around and a great teacher and I think I got a new understanding of the OG way of teaching licks and material by rote from him. Sally Baby was a really nice addition and brought a lot of New Orleans to the mix.

I have some videos to go through, I didn't take all that many. Here's Tcha and Sally Baby on St Louis Blues, Paulus is playing my guitar.

First off, the blue guitar was exceptional. I like the aesthetic since I am a big D'Aquisto fan. Additionally, the guitar had very clear trebles and basses, and prodigious volume. Another feature that I have only ever seen in my lattice braced classical guitar built by David Schramm, who he himself borrowed from Greg Smallman, was the on the spot action adjustment with a truss rod key. The blue guitar was a little high in action (for my tastes), and Paul was able to adjust it in seconds. Great work Paul!

The same for the untinted guitar as well. It was also a very loud, but articulate guitar. Both guitars have their own voice, and to my ears, having tried pretty much every maker out there, Paul's guitars have the similar dryness and articulation of a well played, but still playable, Busato. However, there is an almost archtop quality to the punch of each note played. This is good for players like myself, who play not just gypsy jazz, but several styles (My favorite guitar players are Django, Bireli, Joe Pass, Tal Farlow, Barney Kessel, Paco de Lucia, Vicente Amigo, John Williams, David Russell, Shawn Lane, and Greg Howe).

Baltimore is awesome but I don't really want to live there again. Too hot and I had PTSD from the occasional murder nearby where I lived.

Is Buffalo a sleeper scene?
