{"id":855,"date":"2007-06-04T11:43:22","date_gmt":"2007-06-04T11:43:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.djangobooks.com\/blog\/?p=855"},"modified":"2007-06-04T11:43:22","modified_gmt":"2007-06-04T11:43:22","slug":"django_in_june_12th17th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.djangobooks.com\/blog\/django_in_june_12th17th\/","title":{"rendered":"Django in June: 12th-17th"},"content":{"rendered":"<html>\n<head>\n<meta http-equiv=\"content-type\"\ncontent=\"text\/html; charset=ISO-8859-1\">\n<title><\/title>\n<\/head>\n<body>\n<p align=\"left\">Welcome! <em>Django in June<\/em> is New England&#8217;s\npremier occasion to celebrate, study and just plain enjoy the musical\ntradition unwittingly launched <em>en France<\/em> some 75 years ago by\n<a href=\"http:\/\/djangoinjune.com\/links.htm\">Django Reinhardt<\/a>,\na tradition now known by many as &#8220;Gypsy jazz.&#8221; In 2007, the event will\nbe held between June 12th and 17th on the campus of Smith College in\nbeautiful Northampton, MA. <\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><em>Django in June<\/em> is really two events in one.\nFor the general public, we&#8217;ll host <a\nhref=\"http:\/\/djangoinjune.com\/concerts.html\">concerts<\/a>\non both Friday and Saturday nights at the lovely Helen Hills Hills\nChapel. These shows offer the opportunity to enjoy world-class Gypsy\njazz artists in a live, intimate setting &#8211; without the additional\nexpense and bother of a flight to Europe! If you already know which\nconcert(s) you would like to attend and you just need tickets, <a\nhref=\"http:\/\/djangoinjune.com\/Tickets_Registration\/concert_tix.htm\"\ntarget=\"_blank\">get them here<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><a\nhref=\"http:\/\/djangoinjune.com\/For_musicians\/index.htm\">For musicans<\/a>,\n(including players of guitar, violin, mandolin, accordion and bass), we\noffer a variety of opportunities to learn and share. This year, for the\nfirst time, musicians will have the option of attending <em>Django Camp<\/em>\n&#8211; the first such music camp in the US devoted entirely to Gypsy jazz &#8211;\nwhich will run from Tuesday evening through Sunday noon.
