Happy New Year everyone! DjangoBooks.Com has now been operating for\nover two years. Thanks to all of you who have supported my publishing\nendeavor. Sales of strings<\/a>,\npicks<\/a>,\nCDs<\/a>,\neLessons<\/a>,\neBooks<\/a>,\nSchertler\nproducts<\/a>, and of course, books<\/a>,\nhave helped to pay the rent and keep me focused on documenting the\nmusic of Django Reinhardt as best I can. I can’t say how pleased I am\nto see so many players who have learned to play authentic Gypsy jazz\nthrough the study of my books. Even just a few years ago you could\ncount the number of American Gypsy jazz guitarists on one hand.\nFortunately that is no longer the case. It seems like everyday I hear\nof yet another Gypsy jazz band sprouting up in the most unlikely of\nplaces. I feel really fortunate to be part of this vigorous revival of\nDjango’s music. So, again, thanks!\n<\/p>\n

We now have a video\narchive <\/a>which\nis dedicated to surviving video of Django as well as that of\ncontemporary masters such as Stochelo Rosenberg, Angelo Debarre, Boulou\nFerré, etc. The video archive is dedicated to Mary Honcoop. She generously shared her large collection of Gypsy videos with nearly anyone who asked. The video archive aims to continue her generosity now that she is gone.\nEnjoy!\n<\/p>\n

I’m now importing a large number of Gypsy jazz CDs from Europe. We\ncurrently have titles by Boulou\nFerré<\/a>, Biréli\nLagrène<\/a>, Martin\nTaylor<\/a>, Fapy\nLafertin<\/a>, Rodolphe\nRaffalli<\/a>, and Andreas\nÖberg<\/a>. Additionally, I’m now carrying the excellent Integral\nDjango Reinhardt <\/a><\/i>collection\nwhich is produced by Fremaux. It is by far the best quality Django\ncollection available. Also check out the newly expanded selection of\nCDs by North American and other non-European\nGypsy jazz groups<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n

I’m now importing the entire line of Galli\nGypsy jazz strings<\/a>. Galli strings, which are made in Italy, are the\nmost popular alternative to the classic Argentine\nstrings.<\/a> Additionally, I now carry John\nPearse Nuages<\/i> strings<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n
