Bireli\r\nLagrene<\/a> is one of the most accomplished jazz guitarists\r\nactive today. His career, which started around the age of 10, has\r\nincluded performances with some of the world’s top musicians. He has\r\nshared the stage with fusion guitarist Larry\r\nCoryell<\/a>, fretless bass pioneer Jaco\r\nPastorius<\/a>, and accordion virtuoso Richard\r\nGalliano<\/a>. Biréli is a master of numerous styles including\r\nbebop, fusion, and swing. He is also a multi instrumentalist with\r\nphenomenal skill on guitar (electric and acoustic), electric bass, and\r\ndrums.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

However, Bireli’s musical roots lie in the music of Django\r\nReinhardt. Like most Sinti children, he was immersed in Django’s music\r\nfrom a very young age. While growing up in the Gypsy camps of the\r\nAlsace region of Eastern France, he developed incredible technical and\r\nimprovisational skill. His talent was quickly recognized, resulting in\r\nperformances across Europe as a young as age 10.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/p>\r\n
