At first I didnât like it but eventually I came around. It is evenly designed and nicely made for the most part. One downfall is the refinement of the edges. Itâs obvious the pick was made in a machine, the tool marks are quite prominent. This is somewhat of a downfall. I noticed it had an odd second sound (other than the pick being released from the string). I first lightly sanded each side to get rid of the very fine ridges from machining, this made the sides smooth. Secondly I noticed th...

The Wegen Twin 2.5mm has instantly become my new favortie pick. I previously reviewed the standard size (3.5mm) Wegen Twin which I feel is an excellent pick. All of the positive attributes of the standard Twin apply to the 2.5mm Twin as well However, the 2.5mm thickness is even better suited to my playing style. In addition, as I have stated in my other reviews, the service, selection and customer service at djangobooks is second to none.

I got these for my Telecaster playing actually. I usually use a Dunlop Ultex Jazz III or a 3mm Jazz Stubby if I'm doing speedier lines. I thought I'd try these out seeing how much I love the Wegen 3.5 GJ pick with my Gitane. For fast chicken pickin' , faster scale runs/arpeggios, this pick excels. It just fly throughout the strings with a really great positive attack. The small size is really comfortable for Hybrid picking as well. The grooves kept it nice and stable at a club gig last week; ...

I love these picks. I used to have an Adamas 2.0mm graphite pick that I lost, and these were the closest thing I could find. I was turned on to this wonderful site by my friend Johnny Sandlin, who recommended Wegen picks for gypsy jazz. The thing is, these are also the finest picks for my style of playing, which can best be described as bluesy psychedelic rock. I use the twins on my electric guitar, and the GP250 for acoustic, and the tone and attack I get out of them is incredible. The bevels o...

I had a need to change an order after placement. It was handled easily, accurately with no bother at all. Great site to do business with.

Great pick, needs light sanding

At first I didnât like it but eventually I came around. It is evenly designed and nicely made for the most part. One downfall is the refinement of the edges. Itâs obvious the pick was made in a machine, the tool marks are quite prominent. This is somewhat of a downfall. I noticed it had an odd second sound (other than the pick being released from the string). I first lightly sanded each side to get rid of the very fine ridges from machining, this made the sides smooth. Secondly I noticed the (other) sound is from the bevel. If you pick a string extremely slow you can hear the edge of the upper part of the bevel where it meets the side of the pick. You can also notice there is a prominent line where the bevel begins. I lightly sanded this with 600 to not over sand. So basically you want the side of the pick to have a rounded or smooth transition into the bevel. After I was done the pick was much improved. Overall the pick sounds great, it is a bright pick. The pick brings out the full body sound of the instrument compared to any other pick. It is bright but not âtinnyâ or brittle sounding. It really is amazing how a pick can change in your sound!

Speedy little picks

I got these for my Telecaster playing actually. I usually use a Dunlop Ultex Jazz III or a 3mm Jazz Stubby if I'm doing speedier lines. I thought I'd try these out seeing how much I love the Wegen 3.5 GJ pick with my Gitane. For fast chicken pickin' , faster scale runs/arpeggios, this pick excels. It just fly throughout the strings with a really great positive attack. The small size is really comfortable for Hybrid picking as well. The grooves kept it nice and stable at a club gig last week; hot sweaty, packed bar under really hot stage lights. I was using 0.10 strings that night, but personally, this pick will work better with my normal 0.11-0.49 set.

Pros: control control control!

Cons: pricey

I love these picks. I used to have an Adamas 2.0mm graphite pick that I lost, and these were the closest thing I could find. I was turned on to this wonderful site by my friend Johnny Sandlin, who recommended Wegen picks for gypsy jazz. The thing is, these are also the finest picks for my style of playing, which can best be described as bluesy psychedelic rock. I use the twins on my electric guitar, and the GP250 for acoustic, and the tone and attack I get out of them is incredible. The bevels on the point make it incredibly easy to pick incredibly fast, and the grips ensure that I don't drop them in the heat of the moment. If only they weren't so expensive :(
