Any fan of this music has seen the iconic video & heard the beautiful interplay between Django & Grappelli...after playing this guitar i had to put my cloths in the laundry as if i was sitting in that smokey room playing cards with the band. It should be required before trying this instrument the potential owner learns the Django intro because this what must be played first when picking up this specimen. The sound of the aged wood is what you would expect but only truly cognize when you actually are playing an aged instrument such as this. This one tells the story of train rides, hotel rooms, sweaty nights on the bandstand, a maybe even a session or two played by and with a certain someone?? One can only dream, but the goosebumps told me enough of the story. I hope whatever collector purchases this piece of history will be generous and put it in the hands of the small handful of players with the technique & sensitivity to record or perform with this instrument..This guitar is like an original painting tucked away in an estate only to be traded behind closed doors, while the recreated paintings (like our finest and esteemed luthiers best instruments today) are hanging in the worlds museums for all to see...while these paintings are more than passable, and even indescernible from the orginals they can never replace the history that once was....if your crazy enough to try and own history don't hesitate :)
