The best pure acoustic guitar amp on the planet. I have been looking for years for an acoustic amp that sounds like an acoustic guitar, no boxy, hollow, "quack" sound. This is it. It's pure acoustic amplification that sounds just like your unplugged acoustic guitar. The amp reeks quality the moment you take it out of the box.I highly recommend this product and DjangoBooks are friendly, easy going folk to deal with, a real treat!

I have owned a David for 5 months and have sung and played finger style guitar (Laravee Parlour w Fishman magnetic sound hole PU) on about 25 gigs in that time period. This is my 5th piece of Schertler gear (original Unico purchased in 2005, 2 x 150 extensions and a Jam 100). I really didn't think it was possible to make an amp that sounds a whole lot better than the 3 models that I already own but the re-designed David is a really special piece of gear. I perform (solo guitar, I use both nylon and acoustic guitars) twice a week in a large Brazilian Restaurant (seats 400 people, including a main floor and mezannine). My goal is to provide ambient background music, and just enough volume for those so inclined, for listening enjoyment. For the audience I use the Bose L1 compact , I've found in this large room that it gives the best wide angle dispersion of sound compared to anything else I've personally found in the market (the larger Bose sound...

Schertler David Acoustic Amplifier (Wood)

A Versatile Acoustic Amplifier with a Cutting Edge Features

The Schertler David is a powerful, lightweight acoustic amplifier with 100W of power, 2 channels, and arguably the clearest, most natural sound of any acoustic amp on the market! This unit features a two way 6" woofer, a 1" dome tweeter, and a Class A preamp which will add warmth and clarity to your sound.

The David is Equipped with All the Inputs and Outputs You'll Need

The Schertler David has two main channels: the first channel has a 1/4" instrument input and the second channel has both an XLR mic input with phantom power and another 1/4" input. A third channel has a mini stereo input for an MP3 player. An insert plug is also included which can be used with Schertler's nondestructive side-chained volume pedal or any other dynamics processing device. The output section includes a Line Out, adjustable DI, and an AUX as well as a low cut filter and a mute switch.

Advanced Signal Processing is at Your Fingertips

The Schertler David features versatile EQ controls with Low, High, and Mid sweeps as well as a RESON control which notches out feedback prone Low Mids, enabling mics or Schertler DYN pickups to achieve substantially more volume before feedback. The WARM button essentially emulates the tone of an AER amp by boosting Mids and cutting Highs, which smooths out quacky, harsh soundinging piezo type pickups. An internal digital reverb is also included.

Schertler David

Pros: Unmatched fidelity, pre-amp overload light.

Cons: No stand mount

I have owned a David for 5 months and have sung and played finger style guitar (Laravee Parlour w Fishman magnetic sound hole PU) on about 25 gigs in that time period. This is my 5th piece of Schertler gear (original Unico purchased in 2005, 2 x 150 extensions and a Jam 100). I really didn't think it was possible to make an amp that sounds a whole lot better than the 3 models that I already own but the re-designed David is a really special piece of gear. I am planning on buying the jam 200 for outdoor gigs. I installed a pole mount insert for a speaker stand (I do not understand why any designer would omit a stand mount). I am a fan of the "bootstrap" input impedance sensor but I don't completely understand the dynamics. I am a bit bewildered by the pre-amp. That said It is definitely a huge improvement over the old preamp esp on the Jam 100 which I found very easy to overload with even a dynamic vocal mic.

Nice Acoustic Amp!

Pros: Great sound , easy to carry, and affordable

Cons: none

I perform (solo guitar, I use both nylon and acoustic guitars) twice a week in a large Brazilian Restaurant (seats 400 people, including a main floor and mezannine). My goal is to provide ambient background music, and just enough volume for those so inclined, for listening enjoyment. For the audience I use the Bose L1 compact , I've found in this large room that it gives the best wide angle dispersion of sound compared to anything else I've personally found in the market (the larger Bose sounds even better, but the compact works fine and is lighter). As good as I think the Bose is for that task, I've found I really like the David Schertler Classic. I have the Bose situated for optimum sound for the audience, I use more reverb out of the Bose...I have the Schertler on a speaker tripod elevated and placed by me so that it can cover some of the room as well, but its largest responsibility is for me to hear. I feed the aux signal from the Bose sound engine(dry) to the David....I add less reverb on stage, using the David spring reverb....I love the clean, transparent sound I get on stage, with the ability to place the amp at the perfect height, with the dryer sound...I feel totally connected with my instrument and the sound. I bought this David amp to have a nice amp I can use in my studio easily without messing with setting up my Bose. This amp will be great in rehearsals, and smaller venues as well. If I had to own just one system...I would actually get recommend a Bose first as it acts both as an amp and a PA and so is more versatile, but, as big a Bose fan as I am...I actually think the Schertler has an even better overall sound (ie...I think any guitar played through this will sound as good as possible with whatever guitar/pick-up system is used for input), its perfect for what I need it for!
