This amp is really great. The sound is awesome, very natural. I have used it for street performing with rechargeable batteries, and it works good. I wish that some of Roland's more "rugged"-looking amps could sound this good, like the micro-cube and street cube. The only thing that bothers me about this amp is that it does not look as cool as it sounds. It does not look like a badass amp even though it sounds like a badass amp. Hmm, mysteries. Cons - What it doesn't tell you, is that when using battery power it drops to about 20 watts. 30 watts is when you're plugged in. So you'll still have some trouble being heard when busking (if that's what you're using it for). Also, the feedback kill switch is only really useful when using this as a monitor on stage. The loop machine is OK. Pros - pretty good sound, the removable AA battery pack is cool (especially when you've got rechargables... cheaper to replace those after 6 months of...

Roland AC 33 ACOUSTIC AMPLIFIER

Roland AC 33 ACOUSTIC AMPLIFIER

The Roland AC-33 amp is on the cutting edge of micro-amp technology. The AC-33 is small and light, yet has the power and tonal characteristics you'd expect of much larger amps. The AC33 can run on both AC and battery power, so it's perfect for the musician on the go. An ideal amplifier for street musicians!

The AC-33 is loaded with advanced features

The AC 33 features built-in effects, anti-feedback technology, a phrase looper, and true stereo sound. To accommodate various pickup systems the AC33 includes two separate channels: A 1/4" line level input and and a combination XLR / 1/4" line/mic level input. Each channel has volume, multi-band eq, and effects (chorus and reverb). There is also an aux line in so you can attach a CD/mp3 player. There are stereo line level outputs and a headphone jack.

A small amp with a big sound!

The tone of this amp is surprisingly clean and transparent and compares well to much costlier European made equivalents. It's twin 5" inch speakers are coupled with two 15W amps which produce a surprising amount of volume. Anyone looking for a low cost, practical acoustic amplification solution will not be disappointed! Although designed for use with microphones and acoustic pickups (generally piezo based technologies), the AC33 can also double as a nice micro jazz amp. Sounds warm and fat with magnetic single coil and humbucking pickups.

awesome little amp

Cons: the "chorus" sounds really corny. Listen to Roland's promo video of the AC-33 on Youtube and you will hear it. Other than the effects are great.

The only thing that bothers me about this amp is that it does not look as cool as it sounds. It does not look like a badass amp even though it sounds like a badass amp. Hmm, mysteries. This is probably the best-sounding 10 lb amp on the market, with all the options it gives. The looper is addictive and creates all kinds of musical possibilities. Never stop looping. It's so sweet. Super awesome. I love you amp. Forever.

OK

Cons - What it doesn't tell you, is that when using battery power it drops to about 20 watts. 30 watts is when you're plugged in. So you'll still have some trouble being heard when busking (if that's what you're using it for). Also, the feedback kill switch is only really useful when using this as a monitor on stage. The loop machine is OK. Pros - pretty good sound, the removable AA battery pack is cool (especially when you've got rechargables... cheaper to replace those after 6 months of work than the bigger single unit ones). The stereo output helps with making the acoustic instrument sound more like itself and helps to fill in spaces. This is especially good when busking in spaces with naturally good acoustics, and the extra power from an amp will help with things sounding too "cathedral". All in all though, you're paying for a lot of things you don't need if you're a busker. Loop machine is great IF you will actually use it and learn to get it in time.
