This wonderful sounding mystery guitar is clearly a product of one of the many Italian workshops in mid-century Paris. The neck in particular resembles the typical three piece mahogany/ebony design of luthiers such as Busato and DiMauro. However, other features of this guitar are unique, including the flared headstock and solid rosewood back and sides. Regardless, this was clearly a deluxe model as the solid woods, 5 ply purfling, tortoise pickguard, and bound soundhole give it a regal feel. The hardware includes a recent set of Gallato tuners and a nickel tailpiece.

The condition of this instrument is excellent, with no cracks or any major repairs of any kind. There are a few places on the back where the wood has buckled a little (something I would expect from laminate woods but these appear to be solid.) The frets are new and the guitar plays easily with 3.2mm action

The sound of this instrument has all the character and mojo you'd expect from a fine vintage instrument. This guitar is first and foremost a rhythm machine and it's full bass response and excellent projection allow it to serve that role beautifully. But it's really outstanding quality is it's exceptional clarity of sound that produces chords that are crisp and sharply defined, with no annoying overtones or other sonic junk. These are qualities the best luthiers of our day strive for, and this guitar posses them at a very attractive price!
