I play on this guitar for 3 years now. Definitely the best guitar I have. The straight body is really confortable, the sound is powerful and has a natural sustain ( last gig was a private anniversary and we played 3 guitars. in the middle of the gig, the jack on the amp has broken and I have finished acoustic). I also really like the neck , deep enough, strings rally close to the neck. You can play manouche and bebop..

I own a cross between a Petite Bouche and a Dhole....the build quality, sound and playability is as good as any guitar in any price range, but unheard of for under 3K...these may be the best bang for the buck I have encountered yet. Beautiful old -school instruments. Highly reccomended!!!

2015 Mordeglia FM

2015 Mordeglia FM

The acclaimed luthier Riccarddo Mordeglia hails from Ferrara, the Italian heartland of guitar making that also produced pioneering builders such as Luigi Mozzani and Mario Maccaferri. Mordeglia is a diligent student of the Emilian school of luthiers and has had the opportunity to restore original instruments constructed by Mozzani and Maccacferri. These luthiers laid the groundwork for the modern "Gypsy guitar." Mordeglia has taken it upon himself to take look back at the original design principals of these groundbreaking luthiers and adapt them to make the best possible Gypsy jazz guitar.

This FM model is based on Maccaferri's Selmer models, but has F holes instead of an oval or D hole. The top is bent, instead of carved and the internal bracing is similar to Maccaferri's specifications. The result is a jazz guitar that combines the powerful acoustic projection of a Gypsy guitar with the midrange focus of an archtop. You'd be hard pressed to find a standard carved top archtop that can generate the volume that this guitar can. It is truly an acoustic jazz guitar that is fully functional in all but the most noisy environments. Leads are punchy, with a complex and open character. Chords have a nice midrange focus that produces crisp, defined rhythm work.

The top is spruce, the back and sides are European maple, and the neck is mahogany. Hardware includes a trapeze tailpiece and a set of three on a plate tuners. The scale is a comfortable 650mm and the action is set at an easy playing 3mm.
