This mystery guitar was hand made in North America by an accomplished
luthier. Here's an
opportunity to save big on a great hand made guitar!
The top is spruce, the back and sides are Indian rosewood, and the neck is walnut. The interior is lacquered and the top has a real heat bent pliage, just like the original Selmers. Like Django's famous Selmer 503, it has only four internal braces instead of the normal five. These are features normally only found on flagship guitars like the $9000 Dupont Vieille Reserve!
The dimensions are classic Selmer: 15 3/4" body, 670mm scale, 1 3/4" nut.
The "Mystery" status of this guitar takes nothing away from it's sound. In fact, it is on par with some of Dupont's best work. Very dry, crisp, and loud with enough midrange thickness to fatten up the leads but not so much it gets dull and lifeless. Perfectly balanced with "THE" sound most Gypsy players want.
Action is set at 2.6mm and it is strung with 10 gauge Argentine strings. It plays very easily and is perfectly suited for executing the highly technical pyrotechnics of players like Bireli Lagrene and Stochelo Rosenberg.
This guitar has some mild playing wear. Some typical pickwear on the top as well a few scuffs and scratches on the back. Otherwise, it looks almost new!
Superior Deluxe Brown hardshell case included.
