Maurice Dupont Bigtone Pickup

Maurice Dupont Bigtone Pickup
Long time used in Europe by players like Stochelo Rosenberg, Jimmy Rosenberg, Angelo Debarre, Boulou and Elios Ferre, Bireli Lagrene, etc., this system is designed for accurate sound, high output, feedback resistance and reliability at a reasonable cost. The shielded cable is audiophile quality, with no perceptible noise or distortion. No battery required.

Manufactured in Cognac, France by Maurice Dupont, This model is considered by most to be the best sounding bigtone. The extra lightweight bridge preserves the acoustic tone of the instrument (many other manufacturers use a heavier bridge which mutes the acoustic tone/projection of the guitar). Also, the placement of piezo element is optimized to reduce harsh, brittle high end response and "quack."

Dupont Bigtone Picku

By: roseville_paul on 08/06/2012 09:08:13 PM

I had the Dupont Bigtone installed on my Dupont MD50, after having gigged with a AT Pro lavalier mics, a Stimer reissue pickup, and dynamic and condenser miss on stands. I wish I had installed the Bigtone to begin with. So far I'm pleased with its tone, its output, and the convenience of just plugging in the cable. I'm running into either an AER Compact 60 or an Evans RE200. I think I prefer the AER at this point. Sounds pretty good just running into the DI input of a recording interface. Kind of pricey, but it's not only the pickup but also the replacement bridge. So all in all, a very happy camper.
