To me, the border between versatility for any style and dark, mellow, rounded jazzy sound happens right around the 3.5mm range. I own both the 3mm Jokko and the 4mm Model C, so this idea was confirmed to me in spades. If I had to describe how this pick sounds, I would put it at a neck PAF humbucker, with the tone knob dialed back to around 7: mellow, with very little highs and strong mids and fundamental. Model C 4mm

Pros: Fast, versatile

Cons: Some may find slippery

To me, the border between versatility for any style and dark, mellow, rounded jazzy sound happens right around the 3.5mm range. I own both the 3mm Jokko and the 4mm Model C, so this idea was confirmed to me in spades. If I had to describe how this pick sounds, I would put it at a neck PAF humbucker, with the tone knob dialed back to around 7: mellow, with very little highs and strong mids and fundamental. As with my other Djangojazz picks, the bevels are extremely well thought out and glass-smooth, thereby offering a noise-free attack and a hiss-free pick-through. Naturally, volume control is great--thanks to its mass, this pick can deliver a fff without sounding muddy or giving a fretted-up sound. On the melodic side, it helps the guitar sing with a great "contralto" voice. The only downside for some may be that it has no provisions for a secure purchase--no indents, holes or other devices to help grip it even on a hot, sweaty day. I find this easily remedied--I have glued a small piece of cork to either side of it. However, It may be a nice touch if Djangojazz were to add holes or indents (or similar features) to these truly fantastic picks. Bottom line: the sound out of these picks is phenomenal, and so-far unbeaten according to this boutique-pick fanatic.
