I had high expectations of these, and was looking to the convenience of having an extra G string. I am new to the Gypsy style, and I see that, generally, these sets go through G's like a chopper (have used D'Addario's and Augustines), due to the small diameter and soft Copper windings. I have tried a plain G, and they don't sound right on Gypsy guitars---plonky and screech-y, not sure why---perhaps the higher resonant frequency of the box. DellArte John Jorgen

The Dell Arte's went on sounding and feeling broke-in, but within 3 days they were VERY dead. Unacceptable. If Jorgenson wants to keep putting his name on these, he ought to send someone to check quality control regularly. I need to mention that I then immediately purchased GHS's locally @ twice the internet price, since I use them for all my electrics and like them, and THEY are great---and internet price is half of the other brands to boot, so buying extra G's won't keep you nickel-and-dimed to death.
