This is a unique and most fine playing guitar. The sound is D-hole... a little less focused than the 0-holes. But it's a charming guitar in playability, tone and sound and looks. Has a nice "antiqued" finish, without having been "banged up" to fake old vintages. I LOVE this guitar. The craftsmanship is good without being ultra extraordinary. It's a great tonal option to my other two French guitars, but without having to adapt to how to play it.

2012 Cholet Modele Jazz

2012 Cholet Modele Jazz

Yohann Cholet, who hails from a long line of woodworkers, first gained a passion for lutherie in his teens while building violins in his grandfather's workshop. After graduating with honors from the acclaimed lutherie program at the Newark & Sherwood College in England, Yohann joined the ranks of the "new school" of French craftsman building guitars in the Selmer Maccaferri style. His instruments are known for their elegant workmanship, sublime tone, and easy playability. Yohann's guitars are particularly noteworthy for the fact that they are "slow built" entirely from hand tools, a rarity in this age of power tools and CNC machines.

Unique Guitar

Pros: unique, simple beauty

Cons: may lack a little attention to detail, Saga tail piece (not bad, but still Asian)
