Produces natural sound of the guitar and when connected through my jazzamp with tweeter on - it comes through fantastic.

This is a good mic for a natural sound and can reach pretty usable levels before feeding back. I use it primarily in conjunction with a piezo pickup and blend the two to achieve a balanced, louder sound. It's particularly good with the Acoustic Image, Raezer's Edge combination. An advisable add-on is the velcro strip that hold the mic between the bridge and tailpiece, but the sound-hole clip is good, too.

Works For Me!

Pros: Lavalier Mics = True Tone

Cons: NONE

I bought this over a year ago. When I first tried it at home through my P.A. system, I gotta a great natural sound coming from my Gitane, Lulo Reinhardt Model & I used a, L.R. Baggs Venue DI,in conjunction. Then I tried it at my usual Thursday night gig, a very noisy bar with concrete walls & floors...makes it a really hard room to achieve a good sound. At first, I used that soundhole mic clip that comes with it, and I couldn't get much headroom without it feeding back in the high & mid frequency range, and occasionally the low frequencies, too. Just a few months ago, I thought about placing the Lavalier mic inside the soundhole with the windscreen taped on to it (very important to do because the mic gets knocked around inside), I have the mic hanging from the top, in between the lower & higher bout, and then put a piece of masking tape to hold the cable in place onto the body right above the soundhole. Anyway, I got a lot more HEADROOM as a result. I still had a little feedback in the mid range but a lot less overall. Keep in mind that I had to spend some time figuring out my L.R. Baggs Venue DI to get it to notch out the feedback in the mid & lows. What I also did different from the time before was, instead of using the XLR out (which was sending out a very HOT signal to the PA), I used the 1/4 output (LESS HOT signal, and this helped give me more headroom. I have the gain knob on the Venue DI set very low (around 9 o'clock) and the Volume knob at 12 o'clock. So after I demoed this at home, I went and played my usual Thursday gig in the noisy bar with horrible acoustics, and I totally achieved enough headroom in my monitors & mains, without it feeding back uncontrollably. I still had to tweak (turned down) a couple of frequencys in the high mids & treble but it was manageable due to spending time with my preamp. I gotta a lot of compliments about my TONE that night & still do. I am now playing with 100% confidence at all my Gypsy Jazz gigs.
