I went to the Argentine 1610's from my previous D'Addario 1510's since my Dupont MD 50 came with the 1610's. I since changed all my guitars to Argentine 1610's since I don't feel them to be stiffer or anything, and actually seem to get better intonation and most of all not fret buzz. As far as quality, they MAY hold a little longer.

Argentine strings are the best (and I've tried a lot) on the Maccaferri style guitars. Just the right amount of bite and warmth. I like the .011 on the 1st string to give the sound more body. The Argentines don't last as long as other strings, so really appreciate djangobooks.com making them available at such a great price.

you will not find better tone or clarity from any other brand of string. i use 1610 mf's on my petite bouche set at 3 mm. silver wrapped copper core strings wear out quickly. such is the nature of the breed. micheal offers the best $ deal going on the best strings available. also, once you understand the string idiosyncrasies of your guitar, you might want to lay in a supply of single strings, but that's a whole 'nother review. wonky fiedler, les singes volants

I sometimes run across a dead wound string - usually the A string. I've tried others but the sound is impossible to get with any other string. They're sweet when played soft and you can't overdrive them. Great dynamic range. I only get about 6 to 8 hours a set of hard rhythm with them, but that's the price you pay...
