I was quite surprised by this little amp. I wasn't sure it would be loud enough. But I used it with my jazz trio - guitar, bass, drums- and only had to put it on about 1/2 of its maximum volume. Very clean sound. I used it with my Digitech footpedal to further shape the sound and add some reverb and the guitar (bebop guitar) sounds fantastic. My main amp is an Acoustic Image Contra which is known for it great sound. This Phil Jones amp compares very favorably to the Contra in tonal quality and c...

I've used this amp for jazz gigs, restaurants, noisy bars, playing for dancers, parties. I love it. Very clean tone, no feedback issues. I play a 17" archtop with a Bartolini pickup, and an acoustic with a Schertler pickup. They both sound great. Not suited to your loud blues or rock gig, but for just about anything else, it's great. And only 11.5 lbs!

This is a really nice amp. The sound is very clean, and seems pretty flat across the spectrum. People love the sound of it. The 3 tone controls are excellent. It is not super loud, but it's loud for its size. It's ridiculously small, light and portable. It's also extremely well made!! I'm using it with a Carvin AE185 acoustic-electric guitar and it sounds great with the acoustic or magnetic pickups or blended. I only use it for neighborhood jam sessions but I think it would work well f...

I will be using it for my solo jazz and classical guitar gigs. Unbelievably lightweight. The carrying case is excellent quality, too.

Nice amp!

I only use it for neighborhood jam sessions but I think it would work well for small club or coffee house gigs, as long as you don't have to compete with a drum kit or another instrument with a big amp. Although it's a tad expensive, I'm still giving it 5 stars for value because of its quality, and its small size and weight make it uniquely versatile, and the gig bag is a plus.
