versatile guitarist with special technique - Peter Luha

Postby pitu » Mon Sep 05, 2011 4:04 pm

Hi people. ;)

I'm a guitar player from Slovakia and a big fan of gypsy jazz, although I like and play a lot of guitar styles and techniques. But my playing is certainly influenced by gypsy jazz. You can hear it maybe in some of my tracks..

Rondo alla Turca /Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart/, Turkish March - gypsy jazz guitar version by Peter Luha

Csardas /Vittorio Monti/ - guitar acoustic gypsy jazz version by Peter Luha

Romance - guitar with mandolin, original acoustic instrumental song live - Peter Luha & Jozef Scheiner

Am improvisation with looper - Peter Luha

Flight of the Bumblebee /Nikolai Rimsky Korsakov/ - guitar classical version by Peter Luha

I'm sending greetings to all of you. :)

nothing gipsy, no acoustic guitar, nothing jazz, but you have a good playing man !!! ;-)

you should have introduced yourself as an electric guitar player here, it wouldn't be a problem even if it's a forum about django's music, everyone is open-minded here !

maybe see you in Paris, I live here here too :D

Write me, I am still in Paris.

This is video from la Chope des Puces in Paris, old gypsy jazz bar:

Hi Peter

Some of your stuff reminds me a bit of Stanley Jordan, you might be familiar with him. He was living here in Madison for a few months a while back before he took off for Europe. He does Jazz, pure tapping only. He tuned his guitar in fourths, so his technique is almost playing piano on a guitar. In fact he used to set up two on stands and play them simultaneously. Check him out, he's on Youtube.

really nice stuff Peter. You can tell how much time you put into music, the passion shows.

I love the video in the Paris bar with the old guys checking out your playing, that is fun to watch

Thanks. ;)

In Paris it was a nice coincidence. One of those old men is a legend of gypsy guitar music in Paris.. :)

The guy you played with at la Chope des Puces is Ninine Garcia, one of the one who plays in Paris for a long time when it was not "cool" to play Gipsy jazz
The "old man" is Marcel Campion, the one who organizes many concerts with gipsy jazz style ( a busy, rich, and quite controversed man)
