  Sacramento: Only one I know of Don Price and Jazz Gitan. But there's also a very strong traditional jazz scene there. Lots of kids get started with Louis Armstrong very early through camps and festivals. Some really great young guitarists have come out of that: Nahum Zdybel, Molly Reeves (both now in NOLA) and Devan Kortan.
  
  Oakland/East Bay/SF (including the entire 20-mi radius): Lots. the Hot Club of San Francisco, Gaucho, Americano Social Club, Ross Howe Trio, 29th St. Swingtet, Panique, Tipsy Gypsy Trio, Alex Hand Band, and I'm sure more that I'm forgetting at the moment.

  I’m in Cameron Park, it’s just up the hill from Sacramento, but unfortunately tendinitis makes jamming an on again off again thing for me
