  you might have to go up to the Long Beach area, a good 2 hour drive if you want to find GJ. A good scene there.

  I go to San Diego frequently. Never really saw any Gypsy jazz although there's a couple bands in the area: Trio Gadjo, Gypsy Swing Cats and Zzymzzy Quartet. I don't know how active they are because there was never a show scheduled whenever I was there.

  You will just miss the Dorado Schmitt concert on Nov 29.
  
  The 3 groups listed are active but I don't think they have weekly gigs so have to check the dates you are there for any shows. There are 3 music calendars I check in SD:

  There is a swing music festival at the Handlery hotel that week. I haven't been so can't vouch for it.
