Here's a clip from my band's Christmas concert, Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer reimagined as a gypsy tune (I'm playing the fabulous Bob Holo F hole):

Cool! In the same concert, we played White Christmas and I'll Be Home for Christmas as bossas.

As I tried to steal this arrangement this morning   , it really reminded me of "Dark Eyes." Is that how you stumbled across it?

Not really - any resemblance to Dark Eyes or anything else is purely coincidental. We just decided that we needed to do something with some of the Xmas tunes other than play them straight. I started goofing around with a minor version of Rudolph, which turned into what's on the video. It actually lends itself very nicely to that treatment and has a very klezmer-like sound.

A minor version is actually in the 1964 Movie Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, here's our version (djambossa) that we recorded a few years ago...Ben, I really dig your video!!

Wow! I love it! Kind of a sinister tango Rudolph. Nice work!
