I just watched Tony Gatlif's latest film Liberté. It is based on a true story and follows a small group of gypsies travelling through 1943 France, while trying to avoid the Nazis.

As with all of Gatlif's films, music plays a large part.

It's ironic to see how people can become trapped by the very freedom they require.

The film is dark and sad but thought provoking.

This is an excellent film that continued to haunt my thoughts in the days after I saw it. Not too many films have this effect on me. I found it extremely touching and human, and applaud it for being able to stir mixed emotions of glee and despair. Thanks for posting the videos, nice to see them again!
