string recommendation

I've been using my Stimer a lot lately but haven't been able to find a set of strings that I really like anywhere close to Argentines. Of course the problem with Argentines is that the b string volume explodes out of my twin reverb. What strings do any of you find to be the best for stimer?

Plenty of standard nickel sets will work. D'Addario 11s have worked for me.

If I go nickle 11's, from Argentine 10 (or similar) should I be worried about neck tension issues? And, is the pay-off worth it in your opinion? is the b way less "hot" than with the Argentines or just a little bit better?
