I looked and looked, couldn't find a recording with the VERSE...
Got the lyrics for the verse, everyone knows the chorus lyrics and changes...
Let me know if you come up with a verse recording.
I believe it is sung only once at the beginning. Correct?
A.K.
This book is listed as featuring "the original version of each tune, and all known verses", and it lists Russian Lullaby. Could be worth looking into if you have a big music store nearby...it's possible they mean all known choruses, though...
Where the dreamy volga flows
There's a lonely Russian rose
Gazing tenderly
Down upon her knee
Where a baby's brown eyes glisten
Listen
Then the Chorus...

I've tried the net, radio stations, to no avail...
I'll try WWOZ and see if they have it...
Has anyone tried the other groups... ie... Europe?
Back to practice...
Using some high-tech shenanigans, I've managed to piece together at least part of the verse chart. Hope it helps...once you find a recording you should be fine...I wonder if Ella does it on the Berlin Songbook CD?
I have the 1958 version of Ella singing it...
Unfortunately, no verse...
Oh well!
Big hole in the ground in this quest...
There must be a vocal recording out there some where with the verse...
A.K.

Nice changes though so thanks anyway.
If I could find a recorded version of it with the VERSE I could just transcribe it if anyone can post an mp3.
Thanks

Anyway, here's what I've got. And if you have or are willing to install Scorch (from Sibelius), you can see the score and hear a midi version here:
