Stimer pickup signal on wound strings suddenly weak, what now?

Hello

I have been using a Dupont stimer for years and all of a sudden the wound strings have very low output the b and the E strings are fine. I may have dropped the pickup here and there but wondering if anyone has experience with this sort of problem. Any suggestions would be fantastic thanks, Dean.

Try a different cable first. Could be that and not the pickup. Everything past that will involve opening the pickup. It could be as simple as connector not seating well inside the jack. Or something happened to the magnetic blade inside the pickup. If it has one because I don't know how it's designed. I assume it doesn't have individual poles for each string. Not that I know a whole lot about the magnetic pickup design in the first place but usually it's one or the other. But the fact that it still works some, means nothing happened to the coil so it should be fixable. But swap out the cable first. Even the amp, stranger things have happened.
