Hello
while foraging through the French archives, I found some interesting information and two nice pics of Django (I believe they are new).
I found more interesting stuff and pics about Django, Joseph, Rostaing etc. I need to organize all my notes. I will put that on the website as usual Django and the clarinet QHCF

The band photo is interesting as it has both Grappelli and Rostaing together. Off hand I can’t think of any recordings of Django playing with both of them at the same time.

Looks like Warlop more than Grappelli. That’s a good find!
Can you send the complete photo for the first one?

    Tks

Sorry I should have given more indications. The second picture comes from an article about the Tournoi de jazz amateur 1942: amateur jazz bands were supposed to play Swing 39 (and maybe other tunes) and they were judged by Django, Rostaing, Warlop etc.
At the end, the committee gave a concert and played Swing 39 too (must have been tough to hear the same tune over and over....)
So on the picture it is Warlop, Rostaing and Django. Teddy suggested that the guitarist could be Roger Chaput.

I will share the full picture later
