You're invited! DjangoFestNW Camping and Jammin' at the Fairgrounds 2018.

Greetings, fellow Django enthusiasts!

This year our team from DjangoFestNW, Whidbey Island Center for the Arts, the Fairgrounds Campground and Django Campers got together to craft a new way of experiencing Djangofest NW at the Campground.

We all agreed to offer two areas for camping: Django Jamming at Caravan Field and Quiet Camping in the south end camping area. There will be directional signs from the main entrance at Fairground Rd and Camano Ave. For google map our address is 819 Camano Ave. Langley, WA 98260.

Caravan Field offers tent/car camping and RV camping. With electrical hookup the fee is $25 per night. Without is $20 per night.

Camping is on a first come first serve basis. However, for DFNW, we are asking you to fill out the inquiry form on our website, especially if you have specific power needs, like 30 or 50 amp.

Details about camping are posted here: portofsouthwhidbey.com/facilities/island-county-fairgrounds-campground-south-whidbey/

Fritz Funk, longtime Django Camper, is instrumental in helping us create this plan. The burn ban was lifted 9/14/18 and we are on for night time camp fire and jamming. The City of Langley approved our Event Permit for Acoustic Jamming from 9am to 5am. Yes, that is 5am!

Caravan Field is close to the Fiddle Faddle Farm barn if the weather is a bit misty. We have access to the larger historic Pole Building if we need more space.

Other happenings at the Campgrounds:

Wed-Fri 9/19-21, Noon -2pm: The SingPeace! Gypsy caravan will be on site and will be hosting jams in participation with International Peace Week.

Sat. 9/22, Noon-2pm: Cafe Impromptu, hosted by bassist Kristi O'Donnell, takes place near the Gypsy Wagon. Originally started in 2015 as a way to encourage female Django musicians to play, this has grown into a fun tradition. This is not exclusive to women only. The guys have been great supporters in teaching us bravery, lead playing and team work.

Friday and Saturday: Hot Shot Espresso on site for beverages and edibles.

Saturday: The Whistling Mystic will be offering Tarot readings near Caravan Field.

We would love you to join us for DFNW in the Fairgrounds Campground in addition to jamming in town, taking in the fantastic shows and a wide array of classes.

Please offer your suggestions for future DFNW at the Fairgrounds. We are all ready meeting for 2019!
