Has anyone else been following Vadim's career as a luthier? I haven't seen him ever mentioned on these boards.
From what I can tell, he's only been building for a few years but it looks like he's quickly becoming the new luthier of the stars of GJ. Irene Ypenburg plays her own very unique signature model (https://www.flickr.com/photos/137958563@N03/38098685061/in/album-72157665749333079
), as does Bina Coquet (https://www.flickr.com/photos/137958563@N03/26322218919/in/album-72157662156922338
), and now Paulus Schafer (
), and he's about to start working on a signature model for Stochelo as well.
His instagram is a guitar nerds wet dream as he's constantly posting photos, videos, and stories of his build process (he uses all hand tools). All of the guitars he's built have been stunningly beautiful. His Andrius model is one of the sexiest modern style GJ guitars I've ever seen: https://www.flickr.com/photos/137958563@N03/28567879051/in/album-72157671747986275
Luckily I discovered him about 2 years ago and got onto his waitlist recently and am having one built near the end of this year... I don't need it and my wife will probably kill me, but I bet he'll end up like Bob with a several year long waitlist, so it's worth grabbing while I can
. Haven't really decided any of the details yet, but I'm thinking we're going to do his first f-hole style guitar... Open to any suggestions.
In addition to being a phenomenal luthier, he's also a fantastic player as well after having gone to music school and starting the group The Swing Cats.
