Insert Jack on Schertler David amp

I just picked up the Schertler David amp. Having a good time exploring. Was checking out the insert jack: it’s a stereo plug that accepts the Schertler volume pedal. The manual suggests that other effects can be inserted there that affect all channels in series. Anybody ever try anything else into this jack other than the volume pedal? Anyone ever try a different volume pedal then the Schertler?
