Best Clear Pickguard?

  • May I ask 2 questions in case some of you know the answer? Please see the attached photo.

    1. Can a removable pick guard be used on this kind of finish? (I don't know the terminology. It may be called oil-finished).

    2. If the wood surface already has some light scratches, can one still add the pick guard or will there just be a bunch of bubbles?

    Ok, I'll translate a bit. He says that the top is made of German spruce and that the varnish is going to be "repolished". This may suggest French polish, but that's just a guess.

    Hey thanks Pompier. Yeah mine doesn't look like French polish. Looks like nitro to me. I've emailed them to ask but who knows if they will reply.
