Minor Swing Intro

gjazzgjazz Atlanta, Ga. USANew
Ok Greg, what gives on the Intro lead in. No way I can stretch my fingers between a 12 and a 7 notes at the same time in the first bar.

That has to be a typo, I hope. ;)

Thanks for the great book!

Those aren't supposed to be played by one person...if you look at the standard notation one line has the stems up and the other has stems down which indicates that there are two separate parts. So pick one and have someone else play the other.

    Good luck!

    OK, I never knew that.
    I'll look closer next time.javascript:emoticon('')

The top line in the melody, the bottom the harmony. When the stems go in opposite directions, that implies two instruments. For P.D. it is the violin on the melody and the guitar on the harmony, but playing single notes.

IF you were to play both parts on the guitar, I would suggest experimenting with the lower harmony and finding a place it lays out a little easier.
