    Hey Ben, what's the difference between a 254 and a 256.

To tell the truth, I don't know much about them, other than what's on Jacques Mazzoleni's site at http://gypsyguitars.com/inventory/makers/patenotte/sold

The 254 is the budget model, although I think I've seen a reference to a 250 at some point. Older 254s had laminated tops, but mine was solid. It looks like the 256s have block inlays in the fingerboard and a different bridge, plus enclosed tuners (the 254's were open).

Benny, a 250 is the plainer, 12-fret version of the bean-hole design. That's the guitar that Louis Patneotte made for so many years (And, incidentally, the first vintage gypsy guitar I ever played.) The 14-fret and fancier bean-hole is the 260.
I've never been a guitar player, but I've played one on stage.

    Thanks for the info, Michael.

Have you been getting my e-mails? Sent you one last night. You haven't changed your ID, have you? The 862 one?

No, same. I got an e-mail last night. Just got home, and planned to respond this evening. Been hibernating for the most part.

Hibernating? Somehow you always reminded me of a big old bear!
