String Noise when SLIDING

I'm getting a dragging sliding sound (almost like a whistle) from the windings on the wound strings.
It is more annoying on my Patenotte 260 then my other guitars. I'm sure it is from my fingers sliding over the windings of the strings. Perhaps a bad habit showing up. Not sure if I need to be lifting my fingers off the strings to get to the wanted note or chord. Is there any suggestions or recommendations to help me clean up my tone.

Everyone asks this question at least once.
The answer is always the same.
Release left hand tension before the shift to minimize noise.
There are also ways to mute with the right hand, but in GJ I venture to say its mostly about the left hand.
This was a constant concern with intermediate classical guitar students.
Another method that I pioneered was taking the strings off the guitar !
    That works wonders.
Violin players who are having problems with unwanted noise are well advised to soap their bows. :-h
