    he could play! good thing he messed up his hand, otherwise he would have been too busy concertizing and may have never invented the SelMac.

    Thanks for those! I'd never heard him play. The article was a good read as well. One question: Is this true? Or maybe I mean: Did people really not know who he was?

    "because he felt his playing was not up to his former glory, Maccaferri performed wearing a mask and billed himself as “The Unknown Guitarist.”

    It reminds me of the Santo (masked wrestler/crimefighter) movies from Mexico-an article I read years ago went into detail about how seriously he took the mask...he even had one with a larger mouth slit for eating on the set...

    Someone sent that article to me....so I'm not sure where that info came from. Francois Charles' Selmer book also mentions it....he has a photo of Maccaferi playing with a mask.
