    Thanks,

Hahaha, no, no, no, Jay - I wouldn't do that to the world. :D

At least not in public. My wife keeps encouraging me to sing, and by all rights, I should be able to....voice-trained Shakespearean actor, conservatory education, all that (look up the Smithsonian Magazine, sometime around 1989 or so, that's yours truly with his mouth agape for all the world to take a peek), and at least my dogs used to think I have a "lovely timbre."...but singing is decidedly not something I've been able to do. Though I'd like to be able to do it....chanting out in French is a kind of...don't tell anyone...secret dream. So I need a soundproof room..... 8)

  • You may not want to do it in public. ...I rarely do... :P  .BUT....there is no better way to know if you have the rhtym completely grooved than to be able to warble along with yourself. If you can do both, with good timing, clean articulation and the corrct feel, you know you have mastered that song.

Try humming for sephora whilst playing the chords. ...now I find that challenging

Francis Blanche also wrote some lyrics to two other tunes : "Fleur d'Ennui" and "Crépuscule".

    Hi François,
thank you very much for your information.

Fleur d'Ennui was performed by Lys Gauty. And Francis Blanche performed a song called "Crépuscule en mineur", which is in fact "Minor Swing".

By the way, Edith Piaf performed "Larmes", Lucienne Delyle performed "Nuages" and Irène de Trébert performed Swing 39.

Does anyone out there have the lyrics of "Fleur D'Ennui"and "Crépuscule en mineur"?

    Hi Barengero,

I have never heard the Francis Blanche version of Minor Swing. I have read that Edith Piaf sung Larmes (Tears), but I believe that she did not record it (it is not in the Intégrale of Piaf).
Irène de Tébert (who was the maîtresse of Raymond Legrand (Michel Legrand's father) sung both Swing 39 (Je t'aime) and Swing 42 (Swing-Rêverie).

Please find below the lyrics to Fleur d'Ennui, Crépuscule, Mélodie au Crépuscule and Tears/Larmes :

    Fleur d’ennui (Paroles: Francis Blanche)

    Au jardin de solitude,
    Une ombre couleur de nuit
    Sous la pluie s’épanouit.
    Et comme un lointain prélude
    Ton doux parfum me poursuit,
    Fleur de nuit
    Fleur d’ennui

Bonheur perdu ce refrain me rappelle mes folies,

    Tous mes souvenirs d’amour.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Larmes (Tears) (Paroles: Francis Blanche)

    Larmes, larmes, larmes

    Larmes, larmes, larmes.

Thank you, Francois. I see a couple here listed, can't make out if either is "no. 2". One has J'Attendrai and St. Louis Blues listed. Very good to know, would be a nice treasure to find.

    Hi Passacaglia,

N°2 is not displayed on this site (from what I can see, there are only n°1, 4 and 5).
Even if you find n°2 it is not guaranteed that the add on the last page will be present (the last page can vary sometimes when several editions have been printed).

N°2 includes titles such as I'll be seeing you, Poincina, Can't you read, etc... arranged for piano by Charlie Kunz

OK, thanks, Francois, as I feared. A whole other world, however, that you opened my eyes to, for which I'm grateful.
