I haven't seen too many comments re this great new CD that features the 2 Dutch masters enjoying themselves on their wonderful new CD, full of buoyant versions of some familiar tunes and some less familiar tunes in the genre. The disc opens with a fabulous version of the lesser heard Django tune: 'Bricktop'; great versions also of 'Them there Eyes' & 'Hungaria' leaving plenty of room for them to spar & have fun! The CD includes the stunning original title track 'Plachterida' by Fapy as well as his great original swing tune 'Carnation'; the CD also features Lollo's lovely ballad 'Chemin de Django' and his catchy swing original 'For Meggie'. There's 16 tracks in all which exhibits to the full, the melodic phrasing and flowing ideas of 2 of the most melodic guitarists/composers in this genre. Go get it!
